Having trouble signing in?
Below are the most likely causes:
Lost your password and Single Sign-on (SSO) Is Not Working
Your password was reset; however, you still receive errors telling you you have entered incorrect data. To reset your password, follow these steps:
- Visit https://create.kahoot.it/auth/forgot-password and input your email address before pressing the Send Reset Button.
- When the reset has completed, check your inbox or spam folders for messages from “noreply@getkahoot.com”, including spam filters that might block them as soon as they arrive!
- Use the one-time use link contained within that message to generate a password within 24 hours.
SSO (single sign-on) Not Working
- When creating an account, Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Clever can be registered.
- Once created, an SSO method chosen when setting up your account allows for easier login.
If your SSO email is set to change, it is imperative that you access your account and modify the stored email address as soon as the changes take place. This will enable you to continue accessing it using its username, email address, and password combination; updating either or both may also allow changes in password requirements for future login attempts.
No one can verify if you no longer have access to your email, so make sure that it remains up-to-date at all times. If, for some reason, you cannot longer reach the one used when creating your account, then a new one must be created, as there’s no direct way.
Your Password Is Reset But Still Wrong
If your password was reset successfully but it still does not allow login using either account or email credentials and you cannot sign up via email, use a username instead of signing up using email accounts to find out more.
Simply check your Kahoot! username by looking at any emails sent regarding password resets sent directly from Kahoot! If this does not solve it for you, then check for details in emails concerning password resets sent directly from Kahoot!
If this fails, then make sure that email accounts that contain accounts and emails are set as unrelated, i.e., an attempt was sent when reset occurred to try signing in using the username in case it is not recognized, i.e., that will sign-in will allow access for sign-in by Kahoot!
Use the Password Reset Tool
Password Reset Tool states, “We Couldn’t Locate Anyone With That Email Address.” If the process for changing your password fails and gives an error message stating this information, there may be another email account associated with your account; try entering another one instead. Remember, the Password Reset Tool limits the number of requests per hour!
Are You Unable To Reset Your Password?
Have you received an error message telling you to try again in the future? Unfortunately, the tool limits how often we allow password resetting requests; please try within 1 hour or using another device in order to gain immediate access.
Are you searching through email and not finding anything? The emails to reset your password should arrive within five minutes; otherwise, it could have been blocked by your provider due to more security options in their provider’s emails for companies and schools, respectively.
If the message doesn’t show up as spam in your inbox or is not visible anywhere in your spam folder, then contact your server IT admin so they add noreply@getkahoot.com to their application list so you receive service notifications from Kahoot!
